Ementa:

Reflexões teóricas acerca da história da interpretação no mundo e no Brasil. Surgimento e evolução da área de Estudos da Interpretação e principais linhas de pesquisa desenvolvidas. Fundamentos teóricos e elementos práticos relativos à atividade em diferentes contextos, especialmente institucionais, e nas diferentes modalidades de interpretação, bem como às estratégias e técnicas que caracterizam o ofício. Compreensão dos mecanismos e dos esforços cognitivos envolvidos no ato de interpretar. Desenvolvimento da capacidade de atenção, concentração e memória. Reflexão sobre as causas de estresse e ansiedade em intérpretes e os meios de preveni-los e combatê-los. Abordagem sociolinguística do papel e da atuação do intérprete enquanto gestor de interação e mediador linguístico e intercultural. Ética profissional do intérprete mediante análise comparada de códigos de ética de associações profissionais e estudo de casos relativos a situações que se apresentam no mercado de trabalho.
