SUMMARY:

This research aims to identify elements that can contribute to the construction of a scientific and technological education in a critical perspective, bearing in mind the approximation of Freire-CTS Education and decolonial traits for rural schools. This dissertation project starts from theoretical aspects, which guide our look both for the documentary analysis and in the design of possible articulations between the Freire-CTS Education in a decolonial perspective for rural schools. We briefly present the intentionality of choosing Critical Theories in Freire's conceptions. Based on the ideas of the Modernity/Coloniality group, we seek to discuss the denouncements about the effects of coloniality that permeate the lives of peasant peoples, articulating the debate with the Rural Education movement. We present a critique of the role of Hegemonic Modern Science and its relation to the resolution of social contradictions. Bringing the discussions closer to a proposal aimed at the local reality, we made use of the curricular proposal of Educação-Freire CTS for allowing a curriculum with debates on values and critical and emancipatory reflections. Through a bibliographic review process, we are selecting and analyzing representative texts from Freire-CTS Education, Rural Education and Decolonial studies, in order to bring about an interlocution between the movements. A selection of works is being carried out that would bring a discussion regarding didactic proposals for the classroom in science teaching (Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Natural Sciences) in basic education that articulate Freire-CTS Education to the context of the field, published in Annals of events and in magazines on the Journal Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes). We adopted the Discursive Textual Analysis in our methodological route to identify emerging categories that bring Education Freire-CTS closer to decolonial traits for rural schools.
