SUMMARY:

In 2019, numerous cases of pneumonia were diagnosed in the People's Republic of China. The scenario continued in the months that followed and, at the beginning of 2020, the Chinese authorities confirmed the identification of a new strain of coronavirus, never before identified in humans. An emergency alert was declared and, in March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the scenario a pandemic. Various actions have been taken to curb the spread of Covid-19, such as closing public places to contain social mobility. In the educational field, the Covid-19 pandemic has directly affected the functioning of various educational institutions, such as schools, institutes and universities. In Brazil, the suspension of face-to-face educational activities was authorized by the Ministry of Education (MEC) in March 2020, requiring classes to be held using information and communication technologies. As a result of the suspension of face-to-face classes in educational institutions, supervised internships began to be carried out through digital platforms. Supervised internships are essential for the initial training of undergraduate students, as they contribute to the development of the future teacher. The aim of this qualifying exam is to investigate with the teachers who teach the subject of supervised internship in undergraduate courses in the area of Natural Sciences at the University of Brasilia (UnB) and the Federal Institute of Brasilia (IFB), whether there were and what were the implications of carrying out the supervised internship during remote teaching and the possible impacts on initial training, in order to answer the following research question: in what way did emergency remote teaching promote implications for the performance of the supervised internship and what were the possible impacts on the initial training of teachers in the area of Natural Sciences at the University of Brasilia and the Federal Institute of Brasilia? This is a qualitative and exploratory study. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews will be used as data collection instruments. Data analysis consists of content analysis.
