SUMMARY:

The Social Cost of Carbon is a measurement developed to represent the impact, in monetary units, of one aditional unit metric ton of atmospheric carbon dioxide  - in other words, the marginal cost to society of emitting one extra ton of carbon. The present study takes back the DSICE (Dynamic Stochastic Integrated Climate and Economy) to estimate the social cost of carbon, also understood as the optimal tax on emissions, in a model where economic and climate systems affect each other, and where both have a stochastic component (productivity and tipping points, respectively). The emissions' mitigation decistion of some agent is also affected by the other agents' decisions, in a way that builds up a dynamic game to determine the individual mitigation rates of these economic agents.
