SUMMARY:

This thesis has as its initial motivation the search for an understanding of the relationship between climate change and economic and social inequality. For this purpose, three paths will be presented: the view of the researchers on the topic; the perception of the population in general; and finally, a proposal for climate adaptation will be elaborated, should manage to reduce the vulnerability of the population. The first article aims to assess if, and how, researchers are working on inequality and climate issues together. It is understood that it is important to verify the scientific corpus, in order to understand which topics emerge in the scientific literature, related to the subject here defined. In the second article, we choose to understand the cultural perception of the population in general about climate change and inequalities and evaluate if the view that Brazilians have on these issues is somehow aligned with the available data. It is understood that analyzing the population's perception helps to understand the population's [own] expectations, and this can help in the definition of policies aligned with the reduction of the problems generated by climate change, considering the population that is most exposed to them. Knowing that the most vulnerable are the most affected by climate change, and that in Brazil, the main problem is deforestation, finally, the third article intends to simulate different scenarios considering a common good such as access to an area of land with forest and see how heterogeneous agents behave.
