structural decomposition, input-output analysis, Brazilian economy
This is a research project for a master's dissertation in economics. The study aims to investigate the structural changes in the Brazilian economy between 2014-2019. For this purpose, it will employ the methodology of Structural Decomposition Analysis. The objective will be to decompose the variation in production between technological/structural change and variation in final demand. Data sources will include sectoral economic information constructed from official Use and Resource Tables. The gathered information should help understand the structural transformation of the Brazilian economy from the onset of the crisis in 2014, ending in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
