Payment for environment service to sociobiodiversity (PES-bio): A general model and an application in the açaí chain of Pará's várzea
PSA, CAPM, opportunity cost, sociobiodiversity
This article aims to propose an approach to payment for environmental services for extractive producers (sellers) of non-timber forest products (NTFP), also known as sociobiodiversity products. Through the management and sustainable exploitation of these products, these farmers collect and sell fruits, fibers, almonds and others, in natura. This activity involves maintenance and conservation of ecosystem services in native areas, which benefits local communities and, in terms of biome, the global community. In this perspective, this work aims to use the theoretical foundation of the CAPM (Capital Asset Pricing Model) to format the valuation of the environmental service, as a market price, which is provided by extractivists in the course of their work, considering the potential ecosystem services that are being maintained.
