SUMMARY:

The main objective of this research was to propose an online course of basic English for travel, based on sociodiscursive interactionism, multiliteracies and multimodality, to be implemented in the Federal Institute of Brasilia (IFB). Regarding the specific objectives, this work sought to identify the didacticpedagogical aspects inserted in the theoretical framework of the research, establish the theoretical/formal connections of the research, with a focus on linguistic-discursive improvement, peer interaction and sociocultural development, and analyze the formal documents that subsidize the construction of the pedagogical plan of the initial and continuing education course (FIC) in IFB. The research has the theoretical bases of sociodiscursive interactionism (BRONCKART, 2006; BRONCKART; MACHADO, 2004; VEÇOSSI, 2014; BARROSO, 2011; QUEVEDO-CAMARGO, 2007), multiliteracies, multimodality and digital literacies (DUDENEY; HOCKLY; PEGRUM, 2016; LANKSHEAR; KNOBEL, 2008; COSCARELLI; RIBEIRO, 2007; BARTON; LEE, 2015; MORAN; MASETTO; BEHRENS, 2006; COPE; KALANTZIS, 2016; ROJO, 2009, 2012), language curriculum design (NATION; MACALISTER, 2010; KOSTKA; BUNNING, 2018), and task-based language teaching (ELLIS, 2003, 2018; LONG, 2015; NUNAN, 2003; WILLIS, 1996; WILLIS; WILLIS, 2007). This work is structured according to the following methodological parameters: theoretical nature, qualitative approach, interpretivist method, exploratory objective, and bibliographic and documentary research (CHIZZOTTI, 1998; PRODANOV; FREITAS, 2013; LÜDKE; ANDRÉ, 2018; FLICK, 2013; DENZIN; LINCOLN, 2006; SEVERINO, 2007; MOITA LOPES, 1994; DEMO, 2011; GIL, 2002, 2008). In addition, content analysis (BARDIN, 1977, 2011; KRIPPENDORF, 2004) was the method used to treat the collected research data. The framework of the didactic proposal designed according to the language curriculum design, the course and teaching plans created in harmony with the formal documents and the models of classes elaborated in consonance with the task-based language teaching are some of the results of this research that aim at the creation and offer of new language courses in the remote format by the Federal Institute of Brasilia (IFB).
