SUMMARY:

The master's thesis aims to investigate the mental health of indigenous peoples who live in urban contexts, with a special focus on indigenous artists. The research addresses the problem of the lack of adequate public policies to meet the mental health needs of this population who reside in urban areas. To achieve this objective, the research will be conducted in two distinct stages. Its first stage will involve an empirical analysis of the existing literature on the mental health of indigenous peoples in urban cities. This literature review will allow us to establish a solid theoretical foundation and understand the main challenges faced by these people and communities. The second stage of the research will consist of a multi-site field approach, in which direct research will be carried out with indigenous artists living in urban environments. This stage will include data collection through the researcher's contact with the target subjects of his research, observations participatory activities and questionnaires to explore the specific experiences of indigenous artists in relation to mental health. The Dissertation aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the mental health of indigenous peoples in urban contexts, highlighting the situation of indigenous artists. Furthermore, it seeks to highlight the need for more comprehensive and effective public policies in this area, in order to promote the well-being and mental health of this specific population.
