SUMMARY:

This is a proposal for comparative studies on union actions in public universities to build gender equity. The University of Brasília and the University of Buenos Aires are part of this study, analyzing them in a comparative perspective. The focus will be on the administrative technical workers of these universities, and their forms of organization. We will seek to understand the union organization processes of grassroots entities, their similarities and differences in the construction of actions aimed at advancing gender equity. The work aims to identify the actions developed to structure negotiation channels for specific agendas for female workers in Brazilian and Argentine public universities, in the social construction of equality and equity in labor relations and in the formation of a non-oppressive gender culture in universities and in class entities. The research subjects will be union leaders and workers at these universities. The proposed research will present a mixed approach of a descriptive and analytical nature, with concomitant qualitative and quantitative actions. The documentary sources will be reports, bulletins, newspapers, which will be complemented with questionnaires and interviews with the aim of verifying the perceptions and criteria of the role and actions of trade unions in confronting oppression and building gender equity in public universities. The data collected will contribute information from both methodologies to be integrated, and in this integration, historical and dialectical materialism will be used in the data analysis.
