BIG AREA: Outra
AREA: Ciências Ambientais
SUMMARY:

Industrialized agriculture is a practice that has a major impact on natural resources, mainly through the transformation of native vegetation into agricultural land. This includes the cultivation of monocultures, mechanization and intensive use of chemical inputs, leading to soil degradation and other environmental impacts. In the Cerrado biome, rapid agricultural expansion, especially soybean cultivation, has intensified these changes in land use. Analysis of the Federal District's Directed Settlement Program (PAD/DF), a program developed to capitalize on agriculture in the region, is crucial to understanding the socio-environmental impacts of these practices, especially in the context of climate change. In this sense, the aim of this study is to analyze the changes in land use and occupation in the PAD/DF, based on agricultural production methods, in order to reflect on the socio-environmental risks arising from climate change, as well as its impacts and the region's capacity to respond, through bibliographical and documentary research on the themes of climate change, changes in land use and occupation and agriculture, Environmental Legislation and land-use planning and management instruments in the Federal District, as well as mapping, using the tools of the free Geographic Information System (GIS) software QGIS 3. 34.3, for viewing, editing and analyzing georeferenced data.
