Business Initiative for the Promotion of Racial Equity: the Mover Case

.This study investigates how racial equity has become a priority for private companies, leading to the creation of the Mover association, aimed at the inclusion of Black individuals in the labor market. The focus is on analyzing Mover's role in social transformation and its impacts, both objective and subjective, on the professional and personal trajectories of participants. The qualitative research relied on semi-structured interviews with the founders of the Mover association and beneficiaries of its initiatives, in addition to observations at relevant events such as the Fórum Brasil Diverso and Future in Black. Data analysis, supported by the Iramuteq software, provided important contributions to understanding the particular challenges faced by Black individuals in the labor market. Furthermore, it highlighted the impact of projects aimed at promoting racial equity on public perception and the construction of a positive image of these initiatives. The study also identified the main themes prevalent in the developed actions, offering a deeper understanding of the challenges and advances in this field. The results reveal that Mover’s actions have had significant impacts on the lives of the beneficiaries, promoting professional development and creating an environment of solidarity and mutual support. The research concludes that organizations like Mover, founded and funded by the private sector, can contribute significantly to promoting social transformations, such as racial equity. This study not only highlights the positive impact of private initiatives in promoting racial equity but also serves as a call to action for more companies to take an active role in the fight against structural racism, contributing to a fairer and more inclusive corporate environment
