PAGES: 73
BIG AREA: Lingüística, Letras e Artes
AREA: Lingüística
SUMMARY:

This research proposes a dialogue between the official curricular matrices and the identity curricular matrices of English language teachers in the final years of elementary school and aims to propose the construction of an intercultural curricular matrix based on the registered speeches of English language teachers from the municipal network of teaching in the city of Gurupi/Tocantins, participants in the extension project on the studies of epistemologies of the curriculum offered by IFTO/Campus Gurupi. The work is justified based on the researcher's experiences with the teaching curriculum during her personal and professional career. The theoretical framework is located in Critical Applied Linguistics (LAC), an area of knowledge focused on the development of research that prioritizes discussions on social demands and linguistic policies (MOITA LOPES, 1998; RAJAGOPALAN, 2003 and 2019). The basic epistemologies of this study are the contributions on teacher training during the researcher's career and the reflections raised by abyssal thinking (SOUSA SANTOS, 2009) and decolonial research on English language teaching in the Global South (DIAS, 2012; DUBOC , 2020, 2019 and 2015; MALDONADO-TORRES, 2007; MENEZES DE SOUZA, 2019; MONTE MÓR, 2013). The research methodology is qualitative with an interpretive nature, supported by the principles of critical collaborative research aimed at the continuous training of teachers and the construction of knowledge. Thus, the teachers participating in the research will study the epistemologies that underlie the BNCC – English language curricular component and other curricular documents and will subsequently produce their curricular matrices focused on their teaching and learning contexts. As a contribution to the research, it is expected to produce an intercultural curricular matrix based on the epistemologies of English language teachers in elementary schools in the municipal education network in the city of Gurupi/Tocantins.
