SUMMARY:

This project deals with the theme literacy and conceptions of reading: fashion, meaning and life perspectives for quilombola youth. It deals with a bibliographic research to conceptualize the theme and research through problematic issues in the field of research where the subjects interact. In view of this perspective, some reflections are important to understand the learning relationships with regard to the literacy of these quilombola students. The questions that guide these reflections are: What is the school for the Quilombola/Kalunga people? What is writing for the Quilombola/Kalunga people? How to attract quilombola students to reading and writing in the face of the high rate of family members who have not had the right to be literate and do not master any practice of reading and writing? Is there interest in young people settled in written language? Where does this interest appear in the school trajectory of these students? What tools does the school lack, both in the political, social, economic and cultural sphere, as well as in the pedagogical, material and functional one sofa, to awaken in these students the passion for spoken and written language in school and in the community? Does the school take into account the traditional knowledge expressed in everyday speech, traditions and local fashion? It is believed that there is still a major obstacle that prevents students from being recognized as people with knowledge in the learning process, inserted in various social, cultural and economic relations, thus bringing with them linguistic variations that are most often not taken into account in Portuguese language learning. This gap in learning mediation ends up causing students' lack of interest in reading and writing, making it difficult to improve the expected literacy. To understand the conceptions of literacy and reading and writing in school and community learning relations, which contribute to the integral formation of the subjects of and in the field in a plural, significant and transformative way, with local fashion as a starting point to dialogue with the theme in the context of these interactions. It is a bibliographical research with intervention in the field of experiences of the subjects, where they will answer a semi-structured questionnaire and participate in activities that promote pleasure by the transforming act of reading and writing.
