SUMMARY:

The present project aims to develop a research focused on the teaching and learning process of health promotion for students. Considering the role of the school environment in preparing students for present and future life, as well as weighing the ease of the school environment in transmitting relevant and reliable knowledge, we aim to develop a didactic sequence for teaching human physiology in High School at a Public School in Patos de MinasMG, namely: "Breathes Life - Unraveling Respiratory Physiology and Challenging the Risks of Smoking and Other Drugs, especially the use of electronic cigarettes." Using a qualitative research methodology, with a descriptive-interpretative data analysis method, the didactic sequence that will be developed, implemented, and evaluated will consider "what they know" and "what they can do", so that the teaching and learning process is more coherent with the students' reality. The proposal aims to develop methodologies beyond expository practices, aiming for more effective learning and for students to strengthen better health, hygiene, and quality of life habits.
