SUMMARY:

The teaching of ecology is interdisciplinary and demands knowledge from other areas of Biology from students. However, due to the lack of time and the commitment to end the two-month period, the professor is unable to approach the content in a complete and contextualized way for the student. As a consequence, the student becomes unmotivated and does not give due importance to issues related to the environment. As a result, this project proposes an investigative didactic sequence (SDI), so that the teacher can approach the most relevant contents of Biology in a dynamic way. This educational product (DS) allows students to actively participate in activities and to relate biological aspects to their daily lives. In this way, the learning of the content becomes exciting and the student begins to seek information that interests him autonomously. During the research, students build a model of the biome by choosing figures of fauna and flora with their previous knowledge; analyzes news of surviving plants and animals in critical environments from the common point of view; look for environmental impacts that occurred in the world; and they analyze and describe the errors found on a walk, such as in the Ecological Park, in the Garbage Dump, in nearby environments, among others. Through this material, the student develops a critical sense, and, consequently, makes other people aware of the knowledge they acquire. Students' involvement happens when there is interest in the subject or the desire for discovery, which forms independent students and problem solvers.
