"INSTRUCTIONAL GUIDE PROPOSAL USING THE METHOD PROJECT BASED LEARNING TO APPROACH MOLECULAR BIOLOGY IN HIGH SCHOOL."

The more detailed understanding of molecular biology, as well as the utilization of new knowledge in biotechnology, had its accelerated rise just over a century ago and is increasingly becoming part of everyday society. As an example, we can mention the mRNA vaccine. Observing this phenomenon, the role of educators in Basic Education becomes more important in citizens formation with critical thinking skills, who understand the processes of constructing scientific knowledge and are capable of making decisions based on evidence. Therefore, in this master's project, we will propose a didactic sequence with an investigative approach using the Project-Based Learning method. The didactic sequence will consist of activities to be used by high school Biology teachers to share a teachinglearning experience that encourages important skills and competencies for the 21st century, with the student as the protagonist. The mRNA vaccine against COVID-19 will be the theme to awaken students' interest and curiosity and the anchor theme that will guide the didactic sequence. Thus, we will give greater significance to the study and understanding of the basic concepts of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, contributing to a scientifically informed society.
