"INVESTIGATIVE TEACHING SEQUENCE FOR APPROACHING SEXUAL EDUCATION IN HIGH SCHOOL".
Sex Education. Sexual Health. Teenage pregnancy. Sexually transmitted infections. Sexual violence. Sexual rights. Reproductive rights. Teaching by investigation.
Given the high rate of early pregnancy, cases of sexual violence against children and adolescents and the transmission of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) found in Brazil, the need for sexual education in basic education is evident. The work proposes an Investigative Didactic Sequence to be addressed in high school on this topic. We follow the Prediction-Observation-Explanation model, working with problem situations, about which students raise hypotheses and carry out investigations to reach their conclusions. This sequence was applied to a 1st year high school class, in a school in the city of Luziânia-GO, obtaining a positive evaluation by the majority of students. It is hoped that through this proposal, students will adopt safer and healthier behaviors, thus increasing their quality of life, and that the educational product presented here can serve as a tool for other educators.
