SUMMARY:

To know botany is to understand how important plant diversity is in the life of all living beings. To have this branch of biology in the school curriculum is to show the students that they need to perceive the landscape in which they are inserted, to know the functioning mechanisms and their values, with an investigative look. It will be a work that aims to rescue the student's interest in botany through an investigative approach, since in the current context this theme has not been attractive to the student, much less motivating. And the teaching of biology has the role of changing this paradigm, and providing a more meaningful learning focused on scientific knowledge. The theme chosen is "plant morphology: leaves" and will involve observation, collection, diaphanization and the making of a catalog as activities for understanding the concepts and developing scientific investigation. As a result, the student's botanical content already acquired, the perception of plants inside and outside the school space, and the material produced as a conclusion to their scientific thinking will be sought. The research will be qualitative and as a tool the inquiry method IBSE (Inquiry Based Science Education) that enables the student to use their prior knowledge to build and organize new ideas, develop their scientific path and make decisions, processes for building their scientific knowledge. It is expected that the student by developing their scientific thinking will perceive the landscape around them and resume their interest in botany.
