CRITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION BASED ON ACTIVE LEARNING WITH GIFTEDNESS STUDENTS
THROUGH THE MAPPING OF MOSQUITO LARVAE AND SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS

Starting from a generating theme involving the mapping of mosquito larvae disease transmitters,
the project aims to develop strategies didactic-pedagogical aspects based on active learning with Giftedness students,
in the light of interdisciplinarity, and Environmental Education prioritizing the mapping of larvae mosquitoes that
affect public health. The project seeks to develop in students with Giftedness a critical awareness of socio-
environmental issues, as this special education public needs educational enrichment models based on interests, skills
and styles specific learning processes for these students. The project intends to follow the incidence of possible vectors
responsible for diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and provide subsidies for a greater understanding of aspects
epidemiological data during the course of the didactic-pedagogical strategies for the active learning. While
methodological procedures will be carried out previous meetings with participating teachers and students, carrying
out diagnostic questionnaires, in addition to didactic-pedagogical strategies for active learning containing five stages
for mosquito mapping. The mapping consists of collecting mosquito larvae for their identification in traps or in larval
breeding grounds. Thus, the aim is to develop strategies didactic-pedagogical through active learning and contributing
to the curricular enrichment of Giftedness students. Information will be collected referring to the genera of mosquitoes present in Sobradinho, to the physical and chemical, environmental and socio-environmental conditions related to breeding sites for mosquitoes. The project aims to encourage students to develop proposals interdisciplinary activities with students to reduce the incidence of disease transmission caused by mosquitoes and the construction of a guide for the survey of mosquitoes, prioritizing active learning strategies in Environmental Education with Giftedness students.
