SUMMARY:

This Qualification Project aims to demonstrate the feasibility and relevance of the proposed research, which will investigate how rap can be an important teaching tool in Geography classes from the perspective of Historical-Critical Pedagogy. The main objective of the research is to propose the use of rap as a pedagogical tool in the teaching of Geography in Basic Education, specifically in the context of the Estrutural Administrative Region. Additionally, it seeks to verify the contribution of Historical-Critical Pedagogy (PHC) in school Geography for the recognition of students as peripheral subjects, based on their socio-spatial practices, and to discuss the use of rap as a didactic resource in the teaching of Geography in Basic Education. The project also intends to develop and implement a didactic intervention using rap in Urban Geography classes at CED 01 of Estrutural, aimed at 7th-grade students. To achieve these objectives, a dialectical approach will be adopted, allowing for a flexible and critical analysis of the contradictions, transformations, and interactions between the subjects involved. The results of the pedagogical intervention will be presented in the form of an experience report. Thus, this project discusses the importance of Historical-Critical Pedagogy as an emancipatory pedagogy in peripheral areas, emphasizing social transformation through objective knowledge constructed with mastery of historically produced knowledge, and seeks to relate Historical-Critical Pedagogy and school Geography, highlighting the confrontation between scientific (geographical) knowledge and students' prior knowledge from a critical perspective on socio-spatial practices.
