: INFLUENCE OF MANAGER SELECTION CRITERIA ON UNB'S LEADERSHIP STYLE: ANALYSIS BASED ON THE MULTI-FACTOR LEADERSHIP QUESTIONNAIRE (MLQ)
Leadership; Selection Process; Leadership Styles
The research aims to identify, through the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) by Bass and Avolio (2000), the influence of the criteria used in the selection processes of managers at the University of Brasília on the predominant leadership style in the institution, according to the perception of internal agents. Bass and Avolio's (2000) model categorizes leadership into three styles: transactional, transformational, and laissez-faire. The research, of a quantitative nature, involves teaching staff and administrative technicians at the University of Brasília. It will focus on the selection criteria for management positions of greater complexity and responsibility (FG-1, CD-2, CD-3, and CD-4). Documentary research will be conducted with the Decanato de Gestão de Pessoas to identify the selection criteria used. The collected data will be analyzed using statistical methods and techniques. One of the objectives of the work is to propose a Technical-Technological Product (PTT) based on the research results, establishing a normative regarding the selection criteria for management positions at UnB. Creating a detailed and well-founded normative is essential to improve the effectiveness of the selection process, promote excellence in management, and contribute to the institution's sustainable growth. This normative has significant innovative potential by incorporating evidence-based practices aligned with the best competency-based selection methodologies.
