Analysis of the Perception of Employees on Organizational Socialization at the University of Brasília (UnB)
organizational socialization; Organizational Socialization Inventory; public sector human resource management.
People management in the public sector, particularly within higher education institutions such as the University of Brasília (UnB), encounters considerable challenges in retaining and engaging employees. Organizational socialization, a process through which new members learn and internalize the values, norms, behaviors, and knowledge essential for their integration into the organizational culture, serves as a critical mechanism to address these challenges. This study adopts a quantitative and descriptive methodological approach to analyze the organizational socialization process at the University of Brasília (UnB) from the perspective of its employees. The research will identify existing socialization programs, analyze employee evaluation reports on these programs, and apply the Organizational Socialization Inventory (OSI) to assess employee perceptions. Based on the results, the study aims to propose improvements to the socialization process through the development of a Technical-Technological Product (PTT) in the form of a standard or regulatory framework, which may include a detailed flowchart or guidelines for process implementation.
