SUMMARY:

Quality of Life at Work (QWL) is a field of study that seeks to understand the various parameters influencing the work experience, encompassing everything from the physical characteristics of the work environment to the mental health of employees. Work environments that present emotional insalubrity have negative repercussions for both human and institutional development, reflecting, among other consequences, an increase in turnover and absenteeism rates. One approach to understanding these phenomena is the analysis of the correlation between well-being and QWL, which has gained prominence particularly in contexts where occupational illnesses have become more prevalent, resulting in prolonged absences. Considering the breadth of the topic, identifying QWL indicators is essential for institutions. Risk management emerges as a strategy that involves policies and practices that enable the continuity of operations, mitigating potential risks in service delivery. In this regard, implementing a human resources management policy that supports risk management, in conjunction with QWL indicators, is important for measuring employee satisfaction. The aim is to minimize personnel-related obstacles, such as turnover, absenteeism, and occupational illnesses, as well as to identify gaps in the application of human resources management that may compromise the organization’s performance and strategic objectives, thereby promoting a healthy environment between employees and the institution. This study aims to evaluate the factors that positively or negatively impact the overall well-being of employees at the University of Brasília, so that they can be considered in institutional policies and occupational risk management. The research was conducted in the form of a survey, using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire, with a quantitative approach aimed at measuring employees' opinions on the aspects that comprise QWL. For data collection, the methodological model of Klein, Pereira, and Lemos (2019), adapted from Ferreira (2016), was adopted. In the data analysis, descriptive and multivariate statistics were employed, including one-way ANOVA tests, the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test, and, finally, exploratory factor analysis to consolidate the data and identify relevant factors. The results obtained corroborated some hypotheses already addressed in previous studies, in addition to revealing findings that reflect specific aspects of employees' experiences within the institution, serving as an impetus for further investigations and expanding the understanding of QWL and its implications in the contemporary organizational context.
