Plain Language; Official Writing; Democratic Innovation.
Considering that government actions and initiatives depend on the use of writing in order to take place and that, in order for there to be transparency and greater social participation, citizens need to understand what is being determined in these official texts, this work will seek to verify whether the University of Brasilia (UnB) has adapted to the need to write texts that are accessible to all, in other words, whether the University's regulations follow the guidelines and principles of Plain Language. To this end, this study will analyze the normative resolutions drawn up by the University's higher education councils between 2001 and 2022, identifying whether each of the selected documents contains indicators of non-use of the Plain Language method. The methodological approach adopted will be that of a mixed procedure, comprising a qualitative and quantitative approach to data analysis. In addition, bibliographical research will be used, based on theoretical references published in books, magazines, scientific articles, dissertations and theses, and documentary research, based on primary sources. Based on this analysis of the quality of the University's textual production, the research aims to propose the adoption of the Plain Language method in the writing of normative documents published by the University of Brasilia (UnB). To this end, we will draw up a standard that establishes and regulates the use of Plain Language
