Symbolic narratives of the body

Abstract: The trajectory of dance within the scope of Basic Education is marked by challenges in its recognition and valorization. This study starts from the observation that the delay in assigning a legitimate space to dance compromises its educational practice, perpetuating stereotypes that do not encompass its epistemological richness. In this context, I seek to explore a pedagogical approach grounded in Indian dance as a strategy to foster the quality and expressiveness of movement in the context of basic education. I emphasize the importance of integrating dance as an integral part of the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC) and outline the objectives and structure of this study.
