ENTREPRENEURIAL AND INNOVATIVE ORIENTATION OF THE BRAZILIAN SPACE AGENCY: an internal assessment
entrepreneurial orientation, innovation, development
This dissertation explores the entrepreneur and innovative profile of the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) from the perspective of its employees. The research employs an internal survey utilizing the Likert scale, developed by Rensis Likert in 1932, which employs closed-ended statements to gather feedback on specific themes or products. Respondents select from a 5-point scale ranking from "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree," with an option for neutrality. The construct is grounded in internal organizational factors and those related to the space industry. Analyzing the profile of the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) and its interactions with both public and private entities directly or indirectly engaged in the space sector is of paramount significance for national development. This includes formulation of public policies dedicated to the space sector. Given the long-term, high-cost, and high-risk nature of space projects, the state plays a crucial role in securing investments and technological development. The findings indicate a high capacity for innovation and a high level of employee motivation within the Agency. However, challenges include a low willingness to take risks, conflicting perceptions regarding competitive intensity and autonomy, a need for improvement in valuing and developing partnerships, and disagreement regarding innovative services.
