SUMMARY:

In an elementary public school of the Federal District, the context of a special class for two students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), aged 17 and 18 years old, challenged a Physical Education teacher to build effective pedagogical strategies for learning your students. In order to overcome this challenge, teaching mediation was chosen as a possibility to favor the development of social skills of these students with ASD. This is qualitative pedagogical research, whose objective is to analyze and discuss the possibilities and limits of an educational action, presuming, therefore, the creation of an intervention proposal. Thus, the study methodology comprises the diagnosis, planning and execution of a Didactic Unit to assist two students with ASD, who need very substantial support, based on the postulates of the theory of Mediated Learning Experiences (EAM), of Feuerstein, and psychomotricity. The research investigation takes place from the records in the class diary, where mediated learning experiences considered relevant for the analysis of teacher mediation between teacher and students with ASD are described. We believe in the cultural process of development through bodily practices intentionally meant through teacher mediation. In this way, it is intended to contribute to the reflection on the possibilities of new proposals for teacher mediation of scholar Physical Education in attending special classes with students with ASD.
