SUMMARY:

The Right to Play at School (RPS) and Playful Body Practices (PBP) in Physical Education classes in the Final Years of Elementary School (FYES) form the central object pair of this study directly linked Continuing Training (CF) and pedagogical intervention in FYES. The motivations for this study arise mainly from the concerns raised from the teaching experience and the work with CF of teachers, as they point out that the right to play throughout the school career takes on different contours and occupies different spaces or even it is even denied, or considered inadequate as the stages of basic education advance. We aim to understand the relevance, limits and potential of the pedagogical approach to PBP in the CF of teachers in the final years of elementary school in the public network of the Federal District, in order to guarantee the discussion about RPS. We will carry out qualitative social research with an exploratory pedagogical-training purpose, using mainly bibliographic and documentary analysis (descriptive and reflective). The bibliographic review will focus its analysis seeking to identify the current stage of production regarding the right to play and PBP at school based on the subtopics: a) CF; b) RPS; c) PBP in school Physical Education; d) the FYES stage. We will investigate, systematize and reflect the experience with the offering of the continuing education course entitled Playful Body Practices at School held in two semesterly offers during the year 2021. We will seek to answer which motivations and gaps can be addressed with a view to building an intervention pedagogical strategy that ensures RPS and access to playful bodily practices for FYES children and adolescents as a didactic strategy that also allows/ensures the learning of content and learning objectives linked to the apprehension and mastery of the various manifestations of bodily culture.
