COVID-19, Economic impacts, Waterways Transportation
The economic and health crisis caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, responsible for the globally known disease called Covid-19, brought about several challenges to all countries worldwide. The objective of this study is to establish the impact of Covid-19 on the Brazilian water transportation sector. The literature review for this work was conducted through a Systematic Literature Review, in order to provide a broad and historical overview of the studies conducted on the subject and the data analysis methodology used. The methodology employed for data analysis was multiple regression, and the SARIMAX methodology was also applied, thereby ensuring greater robustness and versatility to the study. The Eviews program was used to perform the multiple regression calculations, while Python programming was used for the SARIMAX model calculations. The research, through statistical calculations, demonstrated that with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Brazilian water transportation experienced impacts on its cargo movement during the year 2020. By recognizing these impacts, relevant authorities can implement public actions aimed at the sector to mitigate the effects suffered.
