IMPACT BEHAVIOR OF ULTRA-HIGH PERFORMANCE RUBBERIZED CONCRETE REINFORCED WITH RECYCLED STEEL FIBERS
Ultra-high performance concrete, rubber aggregate, recycled fibers, rubberized concrete.
It is believed that the use of fiber-reinforced concrete could be a solution to a recurring problem in Brazilian cities, which involves the need to replace cast iron drainage grates, which are frequently stolen, and reinforced concrete ones, due to failures, possibly because of their low mechanical performance resulting from impact loads. This study employs concepts of scientific dosage to produce ultra-high performance concretes and ultra-high performance rubberized concretes to assess the impact efficiency of this material compared to conventional concrete. Three types of concretes were used in this study, a conventional one, a UHPC, and a UHPFRC, which showed average compressive strength of 61.67, 128.76, 108.15, respectively. In addition, the concretes were subjected to the repeated drop weight test, with it being verified that UHPC and UHPFRC require seven times more drops than conventional concrete.
