SUMMARY:

The growing need for high-performance cementitious composites, as well as the environmental issues linked to the intense production of Portland cement, favored the advent of the use of supplementary cementitious materials (MCS) with high reactivity, such as metakaolin (MK), in the same way the development of new materials with potential application in cement matrices, such as nanosilica. Although there are already studies that address the interaction of metakaolin and nanosilica (NS), there is still a lack of knowledge regarding the understanding of the synergistic effect of these two materials on the cementitious matrix in terms of porosity. Therefore, this work was carried out with the aim of evaluating the porosity of the cementitious matrix of ternary masses with metakaolin and nanosillia. For this, mercury intrusion porosimetry (PIM) and x-ray computed microtomography (µCT) tests will be carried out at the initial 1, 3.7 and 28 days, in addition to ingestion adsorption porosimetry (BJH), magnetic resonance nuclear (NMR) and helium gas pycnometry at the age of 28 days. Thus, the objective of this work, in addition to evaluating whether there is synergy between MK and NS in ternary mixtures, also to analyze whether there is translation, parallelism or complementation between the techniques for measuring the porosity of the mixtures
