SUMMARY:
Developed by servers from the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF4) in 2009, the Electronic Information System (SEI) promises greater efficiency for the creation and processing of digital administrative documents and processes. To investigate the system’s usability, a questionnaire was administered to 104 users, and a heuristic evaluation was conducted. The questionnaire showed high internal reliability (0.935), estimated through Cronbach’s alpha. The final System Usability Scale (SUS) score for the SEI system was 59.78, classified as letter D and in the 27th percentile of the curve scale. Additionally, the study aimed to identify external factors affecting user satisfaction, beyond usability. It was found that female users tended to perceive the system as easier to use and expressed a greater desire to use it more frequently compared to male users. It was also observed that the higher the users’ experience with the system, the higher the final SUS score and satisfaction with SEI. The heuristic evaluation identified 99 potential usability issues that impact efficiency, hinder learning for novice users, and negatively affect user satisfaction. The interface could be more pleasant and have better-organized and user-friendly functionalities. The results suggest that SEI exhibits below-average usability and point to the need for improvements that will enhance usability efficiency and user satisfaction, thus optimizing the system.
