SUMMARY:

This research, developed in the Graduate Program in Performing Arts at the University of Brasília, deals with the course The Art of Storytelling, taught to professionals in the public teaching network of the Federal District since 1999, by teachers and trainers at the Centers os Playful Experiences – Pedagogical Workshops (CVLOP) of the Department of Education. Training is certified by the Undersecretariat for Continuing Education for Education Professionals (EAPE). The present investigation has methodological bricolage as a principle, being composed of: documentary research, oral history, in addition, mainly to narrative research, in which those who narrate the experience are the teachers and professors who trained the CVLOP (some already retired) and some teachers and course-teachers who graduated from that training. The documentary analysis allowed us to agree that the course took place in 03 generations: from 1999 to 2003 (1st); from 2006 to 2008 (2nd) and from 2015 to 2019 (3rd). In all this time, 3,919 certificates were issued to teachers from all Regional Teaching Coordinations in the Federal District. If we consider that each participant had 25 students (in a small projection), the course has already benefited, at least, 97,975 students in the network. All this information is also available in the audiovisual documentary produced on the subject. A documentary analysis (minutes, projects and course reports) was complemented by interviews and conversation circles entitled: Memographic Circles: stories inscribed in memories from the course The Art of Storytelling. In order to trace the historicity of the course, it became necessary to broaden the understanding of the performance of the CVLOP, spaces in which the investigated experience was built. Existing since 1986 with several ongoing training actions for teachers, the CVLOP arise in the educational context designed for the federal capital by Anísio Teixeira, which proposes the integration of human dimensions, with great value to artistic and cultural activities. The aim of this study was to investigate the extent to which the course impacts (or does not) the professional development of teachers from different disciplines, stages (Early Childhood Education, Elementary School, High School) and modalities (Youth and Adult Education, Professional Education and Special education). From the data analysis, interviews and conversation circles, it was possible to perceive that the course contributed in several aspects, such as: pedagogical practice, awakening of the teacher's storyteller (including professionally), awakening of the teacher’s writter, rewarding teachers readapted, as well as the development of literary projects at school, contribution to life after retirement, among other collaborations. To narrate this experience, I bring the voices of the characters in this story, as well as establish a dialogue with: Eva Pereira (2011, 2018), Maria de Souza Duarte (2011), Luciana Hartmann (2011), Ângela Café (2020), Ana Mae Barbosa (2019), Paulo Freire (1996, 1997), Walter Benjamin (2012), among others.
