Popular Puppet Theater; Mamulengo; Tradition; Orality; Feminine.
This research proposes to investigate the new generations of women who play at Teatro de Bonecos Popular do Nordeste. The purpose is to understand the livelihood mechanisms of women in the tradition of the Teatro de Bonecos Popular Brasileiro, based on discussions such as empowerment, belonging and clarifying what are the institutional structures that guarantee the protection and continuity of women within this culture. As a methodological process of investigation I will use quantitative and qualitative tools. With regard to the quantitative approach, at the moment for the qualification I do not have the mapping materials of the Rede de Bonequeiras Brasileiras - RBB referring specifically to the data compiled on the performers of the Teatro de Bonecos Popular Brasileiro. What is present at the moment is the qualitative material, descriptively, details of the field research and the experiences between the interviewees and the researcher. I base myself on ethnography by observing the works of the performers: Cida Lopes from “Mamulengando Alegria”, in Glória do Goitá-PE and Mariana Acioli from “Mamulengo Água de Cacimba”, in Olinda-PE.
