SUMMARY:

Pulmonary metastasectomy is part of the multimodal therapeutic arsenal in the followup of cancer patients with lung metastases. Prognostic variables with a significant impact on survival are disease-free interval, complete resection of metastases, and number of nodules. Several retrospective series have already tried to study other variables of interest, but the rarity of sarcomas and the small number of patients in the samples compromise the results of some studies. Objective: To identify prognostic factors for survival in patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas who underwent surgical resection of lung metastases at the Sarah Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals from 1996 to 2020. Result: With this work, we hope to improve the selection of patients for pulmonary metastasectomy, in addition to documenting the mean overall survival after metastasectomy in our series. Conclusion: Pulmonary metastases from bone and soft tissue sarcomas are rare secondary involvements, for which it would not be possible to conduct randomized clinical trials. Thus, the documentation of the casuistry of large reference centers becomes the main source of knowledge to properly manage these cases.
