SUMMARY:

This dissertation seeks to investigate the application of Cognitive Ergonomics and Activity Theory in the Design Process, specifically focused on digital interfaces, for the development of an integrated approach that facilitates the diagnosis and (re)design of the system interface supporting the activity of publications of the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts. The method of Ergonomic Activity Analysis for generating diagnosis and how ideation in the Design Process can favor the conception of more adherent solutions were discussed. The application of this integrated approach in an empirical process validated the expected benefits of interface and process improvement, highlighting a limitation of many agile software processes, which often prioritize functionalities to the detriment of a deeper understanding of the human motivations that drive them.
