SUMMARY:
This academic work aims to analyze the training of fashion design professionals in the Federal District through the pedagogical project of the courses and analysis of data obtained through interviews and questionnaires, in order to understand how sustainable practices are in the teaching-learning of three institutions that offer the Higher Education Course in Fashion Design Technology in the Federal District. Based on the understanding that it is necessary to go beyond documented inclusion in Pedagogical Course Projects and therefore, the need to explore in depth the reality of higher education in fashion design, the research analyzes the situation of the three undergraduate courses in the Federal District in relation to the teaching-learning of sustainable practices, being: Centro Universitário IESB, Centro Universitário UNIP and Instituto Federal de Brasília and its purpose is to contribute to the mapping of strategies for the insertion of sustainability premises in student training. This work is exploratory-descriptive in nature and has a qualitative approach, using bibliographic research constructed through bibliographic review and legislative and guiding documents from institutions, bringing the authors' position on the concepts of sustainability, sustainable development, fashion and pedagogical course design. The case study carried out in the three higher education institutions also included interviews and questionnaires with coordinators and students to deepen the analysis. With the interweaving of information obtained in the analysis of the Pedagogical Course Project and interviews, a space for dialogue is established that enables critical and active training of students regarding sustainability, allowing the student, through their training and practice, work in the field of fashion design, meeting marketing and socio-environmental demands.
