SUMMARY:

Waste management is particularly worrying in developing countries where the best sanitary practices of solid waste management have not yet been excluded and garbage collection and waste separation are included for the poor, marginalized, in precarious working conditions and with little control. on chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic and social exposures. Currently, even with the inactivation of the main dumps in Brazil and the creation of numerous cooperatives, in addition to political and social advances of these workers as an example, their inclusion in the Brazilian Classification of Occupations, there are still several difficulties related to public policies that address this group of occupations selective collection worker. This project aims to propose strategies for the construction of a worker policy related to the health of recyclable material collectors in Brazil. This is a triangulation study, divided into three stages: the first a literature review (scientific evidence), the second will be made of interviews with recyclable material pickers and consultation with specialists, following a qualitative approach, saturation of speeches and content analysis and the third which will deal with the analysis of evidence of public health policies on official websites and scientific societies in Brazil and other countries treated for this population. Based on these data, strategies will be proposed for the construction of a national public policy for the health of recyclable material collectors.
