EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A MOBILE APPLICATION ON THE KNOWLEDGE OF NURSING STUDENTS ABOUT ELDERLY HEALTH: A RANDOMIZED CLINICAL TRIAL
Educational Technology, Mobile Applications, Learning, Education, Nursing, Health of the Elderly
The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a serious game application for mobile devices, in the knowledge of elderly health among nursing students, through a randomized clinical trial. This is a study that is being carried out in two stages. The first stage was structured a Methodological Development Study, which had as a product an application for mobile devices, in the format of a serious game. The second stage will be carried out after the completion of the first, consisting of the application of the application to the target population through a Randomized Clinical Trial. For the construction of the game, the Jaffe method was considered, as well as the clinical trial will be based on the Consort-Ehealth. Interventions will be applied to compare the effect of using an application, in the form of a game (serious game), aimed at the health of the elderly, with other educational strategies. For data analysis, the Package for Social Sciences (SPSS®) version 20.0 software will be used, in which a database will be built. Statistical tests will be performed as needed. Values of p<0.05 will be considered statistically significant. As partial results, the constructed and validated game was obtained. Nevertheless, it is expected that the incentive to study applications and games, such as educational technologies, that improve and improve health education focused on knowledge management, integrated health care for the elderly, educational strategies in higher education, and enhancing the local system already implemented.
