SUMMARY:

Reliability refers to the extent to which an assessment can be replicated, reflecting not only the correlation between measurements but also the agreement among them. The main question of this study is to determine if there are consistent intra- and inter-rater reliability in assessing the maximal isometric strength of hip muscles in healthy individuals using the E-lastic dynamometer. Due to its ease of use and clinical application, it is important to analyze the reliability of this instrument. This study aims to analyze the intra- and inter-rater reliability in measuring the maximal isometric strength of hip muscles in healthy individuals. This is a methodological study of the reliability of the portable E-lastic dynamometer, where the maximal isometric strength of healthy young individuals aged 18 to 30 years will be evaluated with a 7-day interval (testretest), using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Sample size calculation using G*Power software determined n=100 participants for obtaining statistically significant data. We hope this study demonstrates that the E-lastic portable dynamometer has reliable data in collecting information about maximal isometric muscle strength. Carrying out this study is essential to ensure measurement accuracy, which guides healthcare professionals’ clinical decisions, and also to monitor patients’ progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments.
