SUMMARY:

This research sought to analyze the linguistic and communicative results in ten children with autism after ten sessions of horseback riding therapy, and from the results obtained, an Intervention Program named " Therapeutic Horseback Riding and Speech Therapy: Step by Step in Communication"was elaborated, with 24 sessions. The dissertation was composed of three products that together make up the answers to the research objectives. Product 1: a preliminary scientific article about the analysis of the communicative and linguistic reorganization of children with autism after intervention. To carry out such an analysis, findings of protocols validated for Brazilian children were used to analyze language use, form and content, and a descriptive analysis was carried out by means of the Systemic-Functional Linguistic theory (Halliday, 1978). Product 2: final elaboration of an Intervention Program named "Therapeutic Horseback Riding and Speech Therapy: step by step in communication" with 24 sessions. The elaboration of the activities was started together with the practice of horseback riding held during Product 1. After analyzing the results, improvements were made in the initial proposal and the final version was created. Product 2 is exposed in a scientific article and for a better exposition of its final version it is completed with supplementary material. Product 3: demonstrates the scientific dissemination carried out through the presentation of the results related to the project in scientific events. Given this, from Products 1,2,3 it is possible to state that the proposal of speech therapy rehabilitation in context of equotherapy for children with autism produces positive results for the domains of communication and language
