SUMMARY:

 ABSTRACT
Objective: To describe and analyze process and outcome indicators related to oropharyngeal swallowing in an emergency department of a highly complex public hospital in the Federal District. Method: This was a retrospective descriptive and analytical study. The selected data was obtained over a 12-month period, from September/2019 to August/2020. The data used to determine the quality indicators were collected from the electronic medical records, the speech therapy records and the use of descriptive forms of indicators of care provided in the emergency unit. For this study, the variables analyzed were information on process and outcome quality indicators. This study was submitted for approval to the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) with human beings, approved under Opinion Number: 5.988.413. of the proposing institution and under Opinion Number: 6.170.520 of the co participating institution. Results: The sample consisted of 459 patients who were assessed by the speech therapy team over a 12 months period. Quantitative and qualitative data were presented according to the variables analyzed, which corresponded to process and outcome indicators.
