Geological events, such as mass gravitational movements, and hydrological events, such as floods and inundations, are considered natural in light of the dynamic alteration of the relief and extreme rainfall events. These phenomena are observed annually in many Brazilian cities, with social, economic, and environmental consequences. In this context, geotechnical cartography serves as a tool for diagnosing the physical environment. Susceptibility mapping is provided for in legislation and involves evaluating the intrinsic predisposition of the terrain to develop certain geological processes or phenomena. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the influence of spatial and altimetric resolution of two Digital Terrain Models on the quality of susceptibility maps to hydrological and geodynamic phenomena. The DTM derived from the SRTM mission, consistent with a 1:50,000 scale, and the DTM created by interpolating contour lines available in the digital cartographic base of the Federal District, at a 1:10,000 scale, were evaluated. The methodology for creating the maps was based on established procedures in geotechnical cartography, using map algebra. The results included various analytical maps derived from the DTMs, the physiographic compartmentalization of the study area, and the susceptibility zoning to flooding and mass gravitational movements at scales of 1:50,000 and 1:25,000. The methodology used proved satisfactory, and it was concluded that the difference in resolution between the DTMs results in a significant loss of information in the derived products, reducing the quality of the susceptibility maps produced.
