"Experimental analysis of soil-structure interaction of rigid inclusions in collapsible soils"
Rigid inclusion, instrumentation, collapsible soil
The selection of foundation method becomes more complex in regions with very deformable soils that have excessive settlements. Thus, it is necessary use methods that meet technical and/or financial expectations, such as soil reinforcement with rigid inclusions. This study presents the execution and analysis of the physical models proposed by Gomes et al. (2019) with the objective of contributing to the study of the soil-structure interaction of foundations on rigid inclusions when the porous clay layer is prone to collapse due to changes in the state of tensions and increased moisture. This from the installation of instruments, in order to check the load distribution along the inclusions, soil-raft contact pressures, horizontal displacements and settlements in models built in the Field UNB Geotechnical Experimental (CEGUnB). Comparative analyzes between a reference model, raft supported directly on the ground, and a model withraft on rigid inclusions.
