MECHANICAL AND HYDRAULIC BEHAVIOR OF CO-DISPOSAL OF TAILINGS AND WASTE ROCK
MINING; CO-DISPOSAL ; TAILINGS ;WASTE ROCK
Among these methods, co-disposal has certain prominence when seeking to reduce the disposal area of waste generated (tailings, sterile, slag, etc.), as they are disposed in the same location, in addition to reducing the potential for generating acids. and increase the structure's safety coefficient (Li et al., 2011; Wickland et al., 2010).
An essential aspect of co-disposal is the definition of an ideal proportion between mine waste and tailings. Based on this proportion, it is expected to improve the hydraulic and mechanical behavior of the mixture. Thus, there is a proportion for the optimal mixture, which research shows a more significant amount of waste than waste due to its influence on the mechanical behavior of the mixture (Wickland et al., 2006; Jehring & Bareither, 2016; Hamade, 2017) .
This thesis aims to provide support for the study and design of co-disposal piles, through the analysis of the mechanical and hydraulic behavior of the mixture of tailings with waste rock originating from mining activities.
