SUMMARY:
The objective of this thesis was to seek, in the aesthetic studies of György Lukács, contributions to the discussions that Physical Education has been carrying out on aesthetics. In this direction, the following specific objetives were unfolded: a) To analyze the production of knowledge that Physical Education develops about aesthetics; b) Systematize the central categories of Lukács’s aesthetic studies; and c) Build mediations of the discussion of Lukács’s aesthetic studies with Brazilian Physical Education. For this, we show the discussion has been doing about aesthetics in the articles pointing out: a) the themes and problematizations treated in the produtions; b) temporal distribuition in productions; c) distribution by Brazilian regions; d) theoretical framework; d) conception os aesthetics in productions; e) main perspectives and results; f) quantitative or qualitative leap. We also presente a theoretical work, which used the technique of bibliographical research, considering the production of mature studies on aesthetics by Lukács. Finally, to point out possibilities with the philosopher’s contributions to thinks about the main issues in the área. The hypothetically expected results are: a) in the academic production of Physical Education there is na approximation with art, and consequently with aesthetics, in which the conception of aesthetics is linked to postmodern philosophical currents; b) the confirmation o four initial hypothesis that Lukács’s aesthetic studies presente importante contributions, mainly to the understanding of the formative character of art, through the determination that ar tis a product of human knowledge that enables the self-awareness of humankind; c) the aesthetic studies of Lukács would allow aesthetic training for teachers and students in the sense of understanding that there is knowledge of body culture that is approached by art, revealing questions of the human being, contributing to a deepening of human formation from the aesthetic experience of art.
