SUMMARY:

Rehabilitation is a process aimed at the individual, focusing on their potential with the support of a team composed of professionals from different areas. The SARAH Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals, since 1960, has a multidisciplinary team that operates based on principles that guide from professional training actions to direct action with the patient. This vision allowed the entry of the Physical Education Professional in opposition to the Brazilian reality of the time, maturing before the Brazilian legislative milestones the professional category as a fundamental part of the integral rehabilitation process. The present study is dedicated to understanding the history of the Physical Education Teacher in the SARAH Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals.
