Scientometric Balance of Sports Pedagogy in Brazilian Physical Education
Physical Education; Knowledge Production; Sports Pedagogy; Scientometrics.
The purpose of this project is to carry out a scientometric assessment of scientific production in Sports Pedagogy. It is justified by the scarcity of studies in the pedagogical sub-area that deal, on the one hand, with the pedagogical theories of Physical Education and, on the other, with the incipient constitution of Sports Pedagogy in Brazil. In this way, it seeks to situate and problematize the contemporary nature of the subject, with a view to understanding its genesis and development in relation to historical and epistemological determinations. This is a qualitative-quantitative exploratory theoretical-bibliographical study combined with analysis based on scientometric indicators. Thus, in order to understand how Sports Pedagogy has been historically and currently constituted in the scientific production of Brazilian Physical Education, we started from the materiality produced and systematized in the area during the period between 2000 and 2020. To this end, we have drawn up a scientometric matrix for the data collection and analysis stages: a survey of theses, dissertations and articles produced and the constitution of postgraduate programs, research lines and groups in Sports Pedagogy. The second stage will be to identify authors and works that have been references in scientific production, and the third stage is to draw up academic heredity graphs based on the protagonists (authors, supervisors and leaders of research groups). Finally, the critical analysis will seek to reveal the historical-scientific determinations that have had an impact on the current configuration of Sports Pedagogy in Brazil.
