The Centros de Iniciação Desportivas and teacher training: a fundamental element in student emancipation through school sports.
Sports Initiation Center, Teacher training, Emancipatory education.
Sport is considered one of the most important social phenomena of modernity. The expansion of capitalism, globally, served as a support for modern sport to be propagated concomitantly with the still current material production mode. The school as the main environment for the formation of the social human being and, in particular, school physical education, would not fail to suffer the consequences of the modern sports phenomenon. Currently, the Centro de Iniciação Desportiva of the Distrito Federal - CID's/DF offer students from the public school system the possibility of practicing sports in various sports for free. However, such space may be being used, directly or indirectly, for the dissemination of hegemonic dominant ideas and, thus, delaying the emancipation of the working class. Teacher training is elementary in the chain of the educational process. In the case of the CID's, which emphasize the training of future athletes and the participation of students in sports competitions, analyzing the training, initial and continuous, of the agents in charge of the project can indicate at what level are the pedagogical conceptions in these spaces in relation to the critical education and student emancipation. This project hopes to reveal aspects related to the training, initial and continued, of teachers working in Centros de Iniciação Desportiva in order to provide a comparison with a perspective of emancipatory education for the sports context of public schools in the Distrito Federal.
